To be bored is not to be idle

it is to dare to pause, to listen, and to create from the depths of one’s own imagination. Perhaps, then, boredom is not a flaw in our existence, but its most subversive luxury

Bored is a serie of mixed drawings exhibited at Zsenne Artlab in 2022 during the solo exhibition « Melancoolers ». It explores melancholy not as a burden to overcome, but as a creative force—a space where slowness, introspection, and even boredom become gestures against the hyper-stimulation of contemporary life.

What if melancholy is not something to be fixed, but a state to be inhabited?

What if, instead of resisting our fatigue, we let it shape our gaze, our rhythms, and our creativity? ‘Melancoolers’ exhibition was created to embrace the stillness of boredom, the weight of longing, and the beauty of unresolved emotions.
