Registering at the heart of the gymnasium means creating a laboratory of contemporary stories of the place and of the bodies that cross it; it’s to highlight all the complexity of the forces that are exerted there - from the entrance to the locker room to the space dedicated to sports practice. It also means resizing this space through the choreographic gesture and nurturing a political reflection to revisit this space through the event and the relationship to the collective as a place of manifestation. These links tell, in their own way of our contemporary times, the politics of the individual and the collective that exist in our societies, and which can be reinvented in dance. In a society where the image of the body wants to be more and more mastered by its performance and its plastic standardization, what kind of body diversity is shown to us on these sports fields? When the gymnasium becomes an agora, what do the choreographies of body activity tell us? Phase 1 of the research was carried out with a first team and presented as a scale model at the Open Space festival in 2020, at the Théâtre de l'étoile du nord (Paris)"
