—some even claim it’s its core— but in the end, sex is just sex. Capitalism made it more important than it is: nothing smart, nothing glam. Not a promise of transcendence, and no, not a fleeting balm for the soul. Just the primitive mechanics of unconscious drives. It is called impulsion for a reason. These tracks were made to go down this road.
Under the alter ego Sam Media, Patrick Belmont is releasing a new EP— A Matter of Sex, four tracks of sleazy techno and nervous house, designed to scratch where it itches.
A Matter of Sex will be available exclusively on Bandcamp starting February 23, 2026.
It is an independent, self-released project that’s a deliberate step away from the commercial machinery of streaming platforms. Why no label? Why no streaming? Because beyond the dirty economics and very problematic questions under streaming paltforms and social networks, the decision was driven by something simpler: missing the direct connection, from creator to listener. Freed from algorithms and corporate gatekeepers. We don’t need much intermediaries. Do we ?
